Director Julie Williams has worked in accountancy roles since 1996 and set up The Hollies Bookkeeping in 2010 after gaining her qualifications with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.

The company quickly gained an excellent reputation and an ever-expanding roster of clients It moved to its permanent office location in Pontesbury in 2014.

Meet the Team

Julie Williams

  • Julie has worked in accountancy roles since 1996, working with various industries all around the country. When she moved back to Shrewsbury in 2003, she gained her qualifications in Bookkeeping and Payroll from the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers

    Away from the office, Julie is still a Shrewsbury Town fan and was married to Richard Sherratt in 2022. She enjoys reading (when she has time!) and loves nothing more than to head out with the dogs for a good walk in the countryside or take them on holiday.

Claire Hudson

  • Claire joined the team at The Hollies in September 2014 as office administrator.

    As technology advances and The Hollies has employed more digital platforms, Claire’s role has adapted to manager. She now looks after the team, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

    When she’s not at work, she enjoys swimming, eating out and spending time at the seaside with her family.

Fun fact:

We have been a female only team for over three years now. We have had male bookkeepers, but they don’t seem to like tea and cake as much as the ladies!

Satomi Tanaka-Rogers

  • Satomi joined Hollies in June 2017. She is from Osaka, Japan and learnt English whilst at school, improving and becoming fluent whilst living in England, which she has done since 1996. She is AAT Level 4 qualified and as a senior bookkeeper for us, is extremely proficient on Xero and provides vital support self-assessment support to Julie.

    She has three children and enjoys travelling, music and arts.

Anita Walters

  • Anita joined us in March 2019. She has worked in accounts most of her working life and is AAT qualified.

    Anita thinks The Hollies is a good place to work. She describes the office as informal, but all staff are very professional. She feels the team all work hard to get the job done and offer clients a personal touch.

    Her two children keep her occupied and she likes music and salsa dancing, which is how she met her husband!

Shirley Hartshorn

  • Shirley Hartshorn joined the bookkeeping team here at the Hollies in February 2020. Shirley has worked in accounts since leaving college.

    Shirley loves walking her dog Cassie (a Black Lab), going to her caravan on the Welsh Coast and watching her husband and two sons playing local cricket.


fun fact: Our office was a bakery for many years and the building is called The Old Bakery.


Lynsey Morfill

  • Lynsey joined us in March 2022 as an admin assistant. She answers phones, sets up clients internally and keeps up to date with anti-money laundering paperwork.

    She has been a primary school teacher for over 20 years is now enjoying being in an office environment. Lynsey loves working at the Hollies because of the people, the pets, and the provisions (cakes and biscuits)!

    Lynsey says the team is welcoming, supportive, and knowledgeable and always up for talking about their pets!

    When she’s not working, Lynsey loves to walk her dog, have family meals and crochet.

Tatiana Calancea

  • Tatiana is from Republic of Moldova and holds an AAT bookkeeping qualification and is familiar with the accounting software package Xero.

    She joined us in September 2022. Tatiana has a customs broker background and previously worked in the hospitality industry.

    She loves working at The Hollies Bookkeeping services because the team cares about each other, and every client is important. Outside of work she enjoys spending cosy evenings with her family.

Josie Beckwith

  • Josie joined us at Hollies in March 2021. She has worked in a variety of posts, including as a hospitality manager and primary school teacher, but has been working in t Accounts and Bookkeeping since 2017.

    Josie was particularly impressed by the way we combine professionalism with friendliness and, as a dog lover, joining the team at Hollies Bookkeeping Services was an easy decision.

    Outside of work, Josie loves spending time walking her husky and catching up with family and friends.

Fun fact:

At one point we were a team of seven and five of us were left-handed. Currently only two are lefties!

Lexi

  • Lexi is a Miniature Schnauzer and joined the team in ~March 24 (age 6 months).

    Lexi's job is to ensure all staff and clients are happy when they arrive in the office and during their time here. She has also had some Security training from Misty, as she does check who is at the door when they arrive!

    Lexi is Julie's dog and comes to work every day.

Maya

  • This is Maya the Husky! Her principal job is to meet and greet our clients and visitors, but she is also a specialist in hoovering up any crumbs. She is Josie’s dog and comes to work with us two days a week.

We can also produce your income and expenditure analysis on an easy-to-understand Excel spreadsheet, all of which can be tailored to meet your growing business needs. We are currently looking at XeroGo App for our smaller clients.

We take the work away, deliver back to you the relevant accurate reports and liaise with your accountant if you wish and will take the entire headache of liaising with HMRC if required, and with your authorisation.
